I decided to go for the Abu Dhabi and Dubai combination tour with the Big Bus as it had a very interesting itinerary! You literally see all the main attractions of both cities, especially Dubai from which you see both the old and new part of the city. However, the Dubai tour was much more interesting than the Abu Dhabi tour, which is got mainly the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Corniche for a nice walk and lunch, but nothing great to see in Abu Dhabi apart from that to my opinion. By the way, for all the people having doubts about safety, I travelled as a solo female for a month in the UAE, and never had any issue or fears. I was surprised that when I met expats living in Dubai, many of them had not seen all the places I have been to with the BigBus, so that’s another good reason for going for it! The ticket includes a lot of free entries like museums, dhow cruises, a Desert Sunset tour (on Fridays only if I remember well, check it on the website) and a visit to the Atlantis on The Palm. Going to those places separately would definitely cost you more, so that’s why the package from the Big Bus is worth it! You have enough time to visit everything you want, but I suggest not to take the one day ticket if you want to be relaxed with your time. As for the Desert Sunset Tour, I saw a few reviews speaking about the fear of camels. I would recommend tourists to ignore those comments as none of that has been true to my experience with these creatures, which are actually quite playful and affectionate. I’m not a camel expert but it is well known in the Arab world that the only reason a camel will try to hurt somebody is if it has been injured or treated badly by that same person. Similar to humans, they’re capable of holding a grudge, so treat them with respect and nothing will happen :) The sound system quality during the desert tour was quite terrible compared to rest of the tour as the guide was speaking on a microphone but apart from this, the tour is totally worth it! Definitely recommend the Dubai BigBus tour!

If you have a very short time in Dubai and wish to see as much as you can then this is a great way of doing it. We purchased a 48 hour ticket which included 3 day time tours plus a free boat trip and free entry to The Lost Chambers Aquarium, Atlantis, The Palm. The staff are very helpful and Gloria especially informative. We also did the Big Bus Night Tour which included an Egyptian laser show which was excellent. We joined this tour at the Dubai Mall and was stunned when it finished at The Emirates mall. When I told the guide on our bus that we thought the tour would end at the Dubai Mall, she firstly said no it ended here, and that we would have to get a cab or go on the metro. We were sorting out a cab when she ran over to us and said the driver of the bus would take us to the Dubai Mall free. 10 out of 10 to the Big Bus Tour for helping us out. Truly grateful and a great Company.

This year was the 3rd year we have been to see family in dubai and its only now having used the big bus tour have we seen most of what it has to offer. We usually go with family wherever they take you but this time we got a chance to find it all out for ourselves. We opted for the 48hr day/night tour which gives you access to the atlantis aquarium and also a boat ride down the creek and also the marina. You can get on and off at various places to see all the sites in your own time and fit in what you want to do inbetween. The bus is a mix of open top or air con and provides free bottles of water. If I was just going the once for a 4/5 day trip then I would choose a big bus tour, our 3yr old son was also in tow and he loved it.

We are just finishing a week visit to Dubai and Big Bus tours were a big part of our trip. Big Bus operates three routes in Dubai-red city tour, green beach tour and blue marina tour and you can buy a 24 or 48 hour pass. The best value is the 48 hour pass as it comes with a lot of extras including boat rides, walking tours and extra excursions and the walking tours and excursions can be taken outside of the 48 hours but within 2 weeks of the validity of your ticket. Be aware you need to plan a lot of time for your excursions as each route takes 2 or more hours without getting off the bus. There is recorded narration included on the three routes and cold water is provided. Staff were excellent; I would like to thank Glenn who took us on the Arabian treasures walking tour, Charry who provided live narration on the Sharjah tour while Thapa drove; and our favorite Richard who provided live narration for the night tour (extra cost) and who guided us on the Heritage walking tour and answered our many questions. We split our days as follows--first day red city tour with stops including taking the one hour creek cruise. Day two--took the red route to get to Dubai mall where we picked up the beach tour. Stopped during beach tour at Atlantis for lunch and tour of Lost Chambers Aquarium (get free ticket from Big Bus desk outside Atlantis). Finished beach tour then transferred to marina tour at Mall of the Emirates. Given lateness of afternoon we did not get off the bus on the marina tour and at the end got off at Mall of Emirates to transfer to beach bus for one stop to Dubai mall then took red city bus back to our hotel. While the big bus was a great value for us, if you have limited time you may be better off taking a city tour due to Dubai traffic and the need to transfer between lines. We never had a problem getting back on the bus when we had a stop--the wait for a bus was not long. Final tip--get your tickets online and save 25% by specifying the date to start.
