Loved the reindeer and sami experience. Unfortunately it was too cold and there was no snow meaning we couldn't sled but we were able to utilise the additional time feeding the reindeer and the time passed so quickly. Could have stayed here so much longer. Session was informative and really enjoyed learning about the Sami culture. Food was beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely.

Lovely experience with the Sami people! You meet at the Radisson Blu, get there at least 10 mins before departure as they leave on time and you need to check in with the person outside. They give you a colored reflective band which will denote a group, and will be taken when you take a sleigh ride as a “ticket” of sorts. The bus ride there is a quick 20-25 mins, you hop off the bus and are escorted and welcomed into the Sami camp. It was a little confusing for when and where we were supposed to come back, but we just kept asking and it was loose timing. They give you a bucket of reindeer pellets upon arriving which was the best part! We wore rubber boots, as the snow is solid and the reindeer left lots of nice presents throughout the pasture area. We were able to clean our boots very easily after. I wouldn’t wear any boots that are very nice. Also, the Sami people were SO welcoming, kind and shared so much knowledge with us about their culture. You go into a tent after feeding the reindeer for lunch - reindeer stew or vegetarian - and it tastes like Brunswick Stew if you’ve ever had it with a goat after taste. So healthy and delicious! They have tea and coffee, water and cookies throughout with hot chocolate to warm you up. Highly recommend if you’re looking for the reindeer camp feeding, a short sleigh ride (which was a highlight), a short Sami culture teaching, all within a half day! We did the 10:00am one - highly recommend as it gets rainy in the afternoon/evening.

We were thrilled with this delightful trip arranged by Viator & would thoroughly recommend it to anybody considering this. Punctual pickup at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromso and a short coach drive to the Sami camp to feed the reindeers, enjoy our sledge ride and listen to the interesting life of the Sami people. They were very helpful to anyone with mobility issues and the lunch was delicious. We were sorry when it came time to leave - thank you.
